    Not strictly Jazz but seemed the best place for it, this is a very good listen, I remember seeing the film when it first was released.

    Gregory Porter - 'Take Me to the Alley'



    Not quite sure about this one. I like Porter's voice, but on this album he sounds a like an average 'torch singer'.

    Yeah, I prefer him doing Nat King Cole...

    Couldn't get on with Gregory Porter doing Nat King Cole, not his voice or performance, the arrangements were just weird.

    Yeah I've the nkc one on cd. It's quite good although I agree the arrangements are a bit drab as is the presentation . Nat would have turned in his grave.
    Great voice, but maybe more suited to operatic styles
