Primarily classified as Jazz but in this case more akin to Prog Rock/Fusion IMO, JLP is a very accomplished and prolific violinist and keyboard player, he is sited as completely changing the sound of the violins use as a Jazz instrument. He often uses a 5 and 6 string electric violin with a variety of effects pedals.
