Tradition more important than people think.

Plus the Royals are an international soap opera, billions watch them. Keeps us on the map, which is good for business. Well worth the expense which is a drop in the ocean of government spending. Probably costs more to police the Notting Hill carnival.

Personally I'd spend more on them not less. They are still an under-exploited asset IMO. Get them a new yacht, top of the line, and have them travelling around the world talking up the UK and restoring the balance of payments.

I think we can live without the tittle tattle peddled in the likes Hello! or the Daily Mail. Also, I'd just like to see them gone, along with their aristo chums. Parliament could do without its interference also, I know it's mostly ceremonial, but still, this is the 21st century.

What interference? It's entirely ceremonial. Last monarch to exercise the Royal Prerogative was William IV in 1831.

reminds me of the time my brother dismantled and rebuilt his bike and decided that the nuts and bolts he had left over were surplus to requirements.

OK, own up. Who's had their central heating on already?

I'm holding out for now and taking steps to not be cold.

No central heating yet. Mrs. P has bought a couple more fleecy "throws" which will keep us wrapped with the heating turned way down. That's the plan. I think the real challenge may be drying laundry. Haven't thought of a way round that.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.
