How about this for a chuckle. Went to a flyin, paramotor flying, had a great time.
However on Sunday I came in too low, had to take evasive action to not collide with a fence, ended up with an 'arrival' in the adjacent field.

As an aside, we popped into a pub this lunchtime for a beer and was saddened to learn that a lot of the pubs in London are no longer serving draught beer. It seems that these pubs are 'managed' and the staff either too lazy or ignorant to keep and look after the beers; so it's either lagers on tap or bottled beer. They blame it all on Covid, but I noticed the trend occurring before the pandemic started.

Haven't noticed any sign of that here, but the scene in London is very different! The locals in all the privately-owned country pubs around here would be up in arms if they couldn't enjoy their real ales!!

BTW I had a glass of Staropramen lager; which being a beautiful summer's day here today, slipped down very nicely.

Nice... There are so many quality Pils-style continental lagers around, it's hard to choose. Staropramen is one of the better ones, as is Budvar (not Budweiser), which is quite different.

I tend to avoid the 'usual suspects', such as Budweiser, Stella, Becks, Peroni, Grolsch, Moretti, Kronenbourg etc, as they're pale imitations of their real selves, when sold in their country of origin (a bit like sampling Guinness outside of Dublin), and go more leftfield.

Local butcher, home-brew, baking and growing your own is the way to go - it just makes sense in terms of quality, cost, "air -miles" and knowing what is in whatever you are consuming - we've had the industrial revolution with food stuffs, perhaps it is time to get closer to "the old ways" (without scurvy, e-coli etc )

Indeed, mate. It's exactly what we've been doing for the last goodness knows how long, and intensified this year with growing much more of our own produce. By the end of next year, local butcher aside, we want to be almost totally self-sufficient.

It also feels much more like living, as opposed to existing. It makes you value things more and appreciate nature.

Shopping physically in supermarkets is soulless enough, never mind sitting at home, clicking on a mouse, and surviving off of food deliveries and Amazon! Fair enough, if you have NO other choice because of a disability, but otherwise it's a rather dull existence.

What can I say, mate? I don't doubt it, but you cope remarkably well and still manage to stay cheery (most of the time, lol). That's to your credit.

My comments were of course aimed at all the lazy, able-bodied fuckers, who don't know how lucky they are having full control of their limbs, but instead chose to let them waste away by sitting on their fat arses on a phone or computer, instead of MOVING!!
