Seen that Debbie Mcgee on the telly going on about her funeral plan. Doesn't want the cost of it having to be paid by her relatives.

Average cost is £5.5K they say but that is going to include the people who really push the boat out. I'd guess if you don't want the band of the Grenadier Guards playing live it must be a lot less.

Truth be told I'm surprised she's ploughed through all the money Paul Daniels left her already. Must be a right little raver on the quiet.
    Current Lash Up:

I don't get the need for a coffin when you're going to be cremated. And the prices are ridiculous for what is just a six sided wooden box that's going to be incinerated.

If they insist on one then much cheaper just to knock your own up out of wood you have lying about in the shed or garage, or finally find a use for those Audionote speakers.

Only because they're on an earner from it. It's a right stitch-up.

Have yourself freeze-dried like they do with dead pets, then you can be stood in the hall and used as a hat rack. At least you'll be of some use then.

Now now, as a good Catholic boy, you should know the value of a proper burial in a cemetery and a quality gravestone!

Del's mum's was made from Welsh slate, and her dad's and my mum's from marble - not cheap.. I hate cremations, as they're so impersonal and soulless!

Anyway, we've already bought our plot (a nice wee 4-berther lol, for my dad, Del and I - mum's already in)... It's now actually worth about 5 times what we paid for it (in 2010) - so a nice investment

My dad's funeral will be paid for by a private policy he's taken out, not that it would've been an issue anyway.
