RHA claim there were 600,000 HGV drivers pre-pandemic? That doesn't seem right at all. Maybe 600K across all classes, but not HGV. And anyone can drive a 3.5 ton or a transit, no special licence needed there.Originally Posted by walpurgis

a 3.5 ton only has a pay load of 875 kg. if you passed test before 97 you can tow trailers and drive up to a 7.5 ton lorry, who's payload is 2,300kg with a uk drivers licence.
