I think the seller probably wants the money asap so he can get down to Currys or somewhere this weekend. The TV is "collection only". Anyway, he's agreed to wait till Sunday for his money, but we have to get there handy, which means setting off at 8.30 tomorrow. That's going to be quite tough, as tonight is a works Christmas 'do', and as I'm not much of a drinker I'm likely to be pretty ill tomorrow

Drink lots of water before you go to bed, you'll feel fine in the morning.

Faced with a tricky decision, the potential next leader of the Labour party makes an important choice!

Excellent advice Alan, which I totally failed to heed. The result being that I've felt like death warmed up all day. And I wasn't even out that late - when I found myself queuing outside a pub where everyone else supposedly was, in the pouring rain, I decided I'd had enough and phoned Anitacabs to come collect me.

While waiting outside Richer Sounds to be collected, I suddenly needed the bog urgently, so ran across the road to a pub, where I was told entry was 3 quid. Well I was desperate, and in my hurry to step over the 'red velvet rope' I tripped and would have gone arse over tits had the bouncer not caught me. His professional opinion was that I'd had enough, but relented when I promised to just go for a pee then come straight back out.

    THREE QUID PISS!

Anyway, we got to pick up the telly, and it's a corker! Only thing is, it's 4K, and our Sky's only HD, so that's a bit of a waste. Rather like taking Usain Bolt's trainers and sticking my feet in them

Shock! Horror! Poor (not) Bernie Eccleston's daughter Tamara has £50,000,000 worth of jewellery stolen from her home.

This is so divorced from reality for normal folk as to be ridiculous. To even own that much bling shows that real world values simply don't apply. In any case, why the hell did she have that much jewellery in her home! Nuts! Although, I suspect this just a drop on the ocean for that family.

Oh well, they'll just have to go out and buy some more. And maybe something for that baby - its rather curious-looking hairline is just crying out for a tiara

Well old Bernie will keel over soon and they'll get the $3,000,000,000+ that he's worth to tide them over until the insurance company coughs up!

(I wonder how much he's spent on wigs, those he wears are things of wonder )

No one should have wealth like that or anywhere near it.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
