Lawyers on the rampage...Shock, Horror, Probe.....

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-50757383

Three patients died when hundreds of lawyers attacked a hospital in Lahore during a furious dispute with doctors.

Video showed the lawyers ransacking wards at the cardiac hospital, beating up staff and smashing equipment.

As panic spread, doctors and paramedics hid, leaving patients unattended, including those in a critical state.

At 6pm today we got the winning ebay bid on an OLED telly. Our plan was to go and collect it on Sunday, and pay at the same time. but the seller really wants us to pay for it immediately. Are we being unreasonable in wanting to see the TV working before parting with our money? If Anita did the Paypal thing now, and we drove down to Crewe on Sunday to collect, and found that it's a pile of screen-burned crap, would it not be a right pain to get a refund?
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

No. You should be able to claim your payment back if the item is not as described or defective. You may find PayPal sit on your money for a week or two though.

The seller cannot insist that you pay immediately, and if they do you can ignore it.

eBay policy says you have two days to pay for an auction (or BIN) item so you have plenty of time to go have a look first ... but then you will have to pay or risk getting an 'unpaid item' strike on your account. Personally if It turned out to be a bag o shite I would walk away.

The seller is foolish. You could pay, go and collect the TV, go home and report it as not having arrived. He’ll have no proof of postage (obviously) and you’ll get your money back!

Dunno, but I was amused to see one eBay ad for an expensive amplifier, which said 'You are welcome to have a listen to the amp, but only after you've paid for it'.
