How can he be brainless when he's got a degree in Classical Philosophy from Oxford?

most folk who apply themselves can pass exams, especially where reading and memorising are the main constituents... being intelligent is a different ball game

It's the difference between having knowledge and knowing how to use it.

Being academic isn't the same as having common sense, and most of these chinless wonders are devoid of having any, almost as much as they are divorced from reality... I detest such creatures like you couldn't imagine... Plus he's on record as being anti-Scottish, and anyone who's so blatantly anti-Scottish as him is my enemy!

Well, don't pollute this thread with politics, or indeed any other thread on the forum. If you want to talk about that pish, start a separate (and dedicated) discussion, so all that cack can be kept in the one place.

I'd rather we kept off it altogether as no-one seems to have anything informed or intelligent to say and PFM already has the juvenile angle well covered.

Well it doesnt follow that read people are not intelligent but neither does it the other way. Its a form of ability, much like ability to pick up mechanical stuff easily. My Brother was university educated and a teacher, and was fairly good at lots of things, but he was far from the norm of his collegues

Lol - fine by me. That's *exactly* what I'm doing in real life.

The only thing I want to hear about politics, is when the next Scottish referendum will be, so we can leave all the Westmonster wankers to it!
