    For me the municipal baths would be a deal breaker, throw in a friendly northern local & I'm there! (can you still get mild?)



    Chips with curry sauce - tick but savs go with pease pudding from a stall on Chrisp Street Market, Poplar only (was raised on 'em)

    Tommy there is not a good example of your average friendly northerner, but that's what Fray Bentos pies does to you. Having said that putting a plate of jellied eels in front of him, or taking him to a pie 'n' mash shop is unlikely to cheer him up. I have a mate who's a dead ringer for Tommy, and he's a miserable shite too.
