I know they don't show it, but my balls appreciate everything you do for them.

And yes I know about what you did in the shop, it made the local paper, the Wrexham Wankwipe. Your face had been pixelated, but I recognised the Gary Barlow tattoo.

Drats, sussed... The salesgirl was so impressed with the size of the imprint, she gave me a discount. In fact, the residue it left saved her from going to the shops later and buying some parmesan.

As everybody seems to be talking about booze and pubs, I thought I'd mention that I'm thinking of starting to brew my own beer.

My father in law used to brew his own and turned out some wicked lager style beers. He got me well pissed a few times. Bloody nice bloke he was.

    Anybody here brewing?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I tried making my own wine: bought a 'how to do it' book, all the equipment and made a start. But although the outcome was palatable, I was not encouraged sufficiently to pursue the endeavour.

To be blunt, it was just too much hard work and too long to wait for the result.

Actually, being a skinflint, I was hoping home brewing might be a cheap way to organise some booze.

Used to brew gallons of wine before our move to France. Had a small cellar that was the perfect temperature for storage and built a temperature controlled fermenting cabinet. It was big enough for 3 five gallon tubs plus a couple of demi-johns.

Made lots from fresh fruit, including Plum, Rose Hip, Apple, Strawberry, Blackberry, Elderberry, plus Chilli and parsnip.

Had a few of bottles that blew their corks so the smell down the cellar was wonderful when that happened.
Just trying to remember the maximum number of bottles, I think it peaked at 150.
