I use an SM58 myself, a tough, road ready mic.

I’ve used an old wireless before, much like the Nady you describe. As you said, new batteries before every practice! And, while good for guitar, it lacked the very bottom registers needed for bass.

But these X-Vive units are digital, operate at 2.4GHz, and claim flat from 20 to 20KHz. And deliver as far as I can tell! Punchy bass. But one of best things is these tiny wireless units have a built in lithium ion battery, and they come with a wire that charges from any USB power source, both at once! With a 6 hour battery life, batteries are something I do not worry about. The two guitar players in my band are way jealous.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Was busy yesterday evening fighting with an old PC, which for some reason refused to be loaded with Linux Mint (for an elderly neighbour, older than me!), took some time. So wanted something quick, found some cooked sausages in the fridge, sliced them made a sandwich and put Sainsbury's sweet chilli sauce in it. Quite enjoyed the combination.

Yes, last few I've had have been real mystery meat sandwiches, you needed the chilli sauce to mask the unidentifiable flavour.
