It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Got me thinking; how long will the "Colonel Sanders" image survive? - I see that "Uncle Ben" is being rebranded, without the image, for some strange reason.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

of course joe public fell for the "so called" truth like a shot, and caused a shortage... the reporting now is doing the same thing... say you have plenty stock really means get it while you can folks.

I might add my maw bought izal, and there was no shortage of that..it was like wiping your arse with a brick!!

Accrington bricks aren't too bad, quite smooth. Concrete blocks are the ones to avoid. And make sure they are free of mortar, that stuff causes severe ring-sting

For us, the whole of North Wales is still open, including Chester, so we're functioning completely as normal (apart from having to wear a fooking face covering in shops). I simply couldn't function being cooped up inside within the same four walls. day after day - too used to the garden and getting out and about.

My dad and I went for a lovely pub lunch the other day - yes LIFE still exists!

As far as I know, nationally (England) it's back to no mixing households which don't have this "bubble" crap going on. And I thought Wales was similar. You and your dad need to watch out for the Covid Snitches..

Did visit a friend a few weeks ago, and had a few visit me. Went up Liverpool in June. There's no-where near me that does a 'lovely' pub lunch. It's a two mile walk to get somewhere even half-decent for that. If you want a decent steak that's 7 miles away.

I've always regarded any need to leave the house as either an absolute necessity or a failure of planning.
Well, your last sentence is funny, but describes a different world from the one I inhabit!

Secondly, you've outlined exactly why I'd *never* live without a car, as it gives your FREEDOM [go where you like, when you like] and prevents you from being trapped. I know your views on that of course, but we'll never agree because we're fundamentally different people

Nope, there's no lockdowns in North Wales, and as far as I know here it's still the rule of six - and last time I counted 1 + 1 [me plus my dad] = 2
