My older daughter was happy to have a girl this time, but her partner wanted a boy, as he already has a daughter from a previous relationship. After they learned the sex of the baby and got outside, he grumbled "Girl maker", and my daughter replied "Hey, don't be calling me a girl maker, I've already got a son, where's your son?"

I think there may be a place for them on the next Jeremy Kyle

Bloody expensive next Christmas will be.

For any of you out there who are wondering what all the hype about Game of Thrones is and have you missed the boat... is it worth getting now TV for etc etc.

If you watch Lord of the Rings on DVD and intersperse 5 minutes of porno every 15 minutes , you get a pretty good feel for the flavour of it.

I thought Game of Thrones was a documentary series about lavatories.

You know when a new film comes out, and the critics hail it "a triumph" and "funniest thing in years", etc, and when you go to see it you can't understand what all the fuss was about, well it's due to expectations, and nothing can ever quite live up to the hype.

It's similar with "Game Of Thrones". There is bound to be a backlash. Perhaps the trick is to wait until after the backlash, then you can watch it with lowered expectations, and be pleasantly surprised. I personally like it, although really that's because all the other cack on TV these days isn't setting the bar very high.

Them dragons are pretty impressive though, and give my sub something to work with

My brother's a fan, so I've seen it a few times at his place. If you like escapist fantasy, it's good. I quite liked it, although it would not be on my regular watch list. Peter Dinklage was bloody amazing.
