    That baby ticks ALL the right boxes, certainly in terms of looks! Gotta be car 'rear of the year'.... I can't be doing with any 'pretty-boy' shit. I like muscle cars to look big, bad and BRUTAL!!

    My parents, 25 years older than me, were right in the thick of the 50’s. They went to the juke joint every weekend, and did the jitterbug! And I’ve seen it, man they could dance! They said people would clear the floor for them, as they walked the dog! They went to drive ins with the waitresses on roller skates, and my Dad tells the story of the first time he ate Pizza, he couldn’t figure why anyone would put cheese on a pie? It seems no one knew what it was, but he and some friends got brave enough to order one, and it was love at first bite. A time of great prosperity, wives didn’t work, they didn’t need to. Truly a simpler time.

    All the very cool cars of the 50’s and 60’s were just about old enough for us to afford by the time I got my license, and 10 to 17mpg was the norm. But it didn’t matter, gas was only 28cent a gallon. As a teenager, I’d fill up the tank, and drive all night long! We were drinking and doing other things, so we didn’t dare stop anywhere, and while that sort of thing is frowned upon these days, back then, after 11pm, you could drive all night and never see another car! I literally drove 100mph everywhere I went. I’d take my big V8 powered 1972 El Camino, and find a long winding gravel road deep in the county, and “Power Slide”, the whole way, back end fish tailing, literally going side ways through every turn! Wow those were fun times! A friend of mine had a ‘67 Malabo, another a ‘65 Ford Galaxy, another had a ‘68 Dodge Dart with 383 big block! And a good friend got some insurance money from an accident, and bought a ‘69 Mustang with the 390 big block, with a triple Duce carb, at the time a very expensive car. They were all overpowered death traps! With tiny shocks, drum breaks, and huge gas guzzling motors. It’s a wonder any of us lived! Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing! I wish I had the foresight to stash a few of those old cars away!
