Been having a good and thorough Spring clean. Normally it's a somewhat cursory affair, but this time all the walls in the kitchen have been washed down, cupboards emptied, all contents washed; those items that haven't been used for years thrown out, and the cupboards and drawers scrubbed inside and out.

Oh, and I also cut the grass.

What is relevant is whose name is on the agreement, as this is the person who will be legally liable for the debt. Therefore, a husband is not responsible for his wife's debts, or vice versa, if his name is not on the original credit agreement.

If a debt is in joint names, you have what is known as 'joint and several liability'.

That’s what I was thinking. Many years ago when I got the separation, those papers stated that I was no longer responsible for any debts she may create. All previous debt was politely given to me, so she has no prior, and I’m off the hook for the remainder. Seems we had to run an ad in the local news paper saying I was no longer responsible for her debts? It was 18 years ago, so it’s starting to get foggy.

On the divorce papers I recently received, it spoke of death beneficiary. That she was still entitled to it, unless I left a will to the contrary. which I will do.

Here’s a good one! Who out there has a proud moment when you came out on top? I’ve had a few in my day, but one time in particular has been on my mind lately

When I was in high school, my father was a construction superintendent, and his job site was a long way from town. So he had a drink machine installed, for the craftsmen to buy soda at break time. At the end of the month he got a check! For his profits from the machine.

So when I was at school I saw the soda man filling up all the drink machines, I do think he made two trips a day! I asked him how many he loaded in a day? And he said like 500! So, judging from the money my dad was making, I calculated what the profit was on 500x30! And it came out to $3,642! Back in 1978, that was good money for a month, Twice what a principal would make!

As usual, as the principal walks past me in the hall, he can’t just keep on walking, he has to screw with me. So I asked him, “who manages the drink machines.”, and he said, “I handle all that myself.”, and I asked, “so where does the money go?” And he made some lame excuse, saying that he uses it to buy coffee for the teacher’s lounge. And I said, “you can buy a lot of coffee for $3,642 a month!”, and he turned white as a ghost! He panicked big time, shouting, “I never want to hear another word about it, or I’ll remove the machines!”, and I calmly said, “if you hear about it, it won’t be from me!”.

So from that moment on, no matter what I did, if I got sent to the office he would say, “sit by the door and wait for the bell to ring.”. I mean no matter what I did he told me to wait for the bell and go to my next class. I was leaving school without permission, even got sent in for fighting once, and the other boy just could not understand why the principle didn’t speak to us?

And now that I think back, I wonder why I didn’t extort him for a few hundred bucks! $500 a month wouldn’t have hurt him too much, and would have bought me a much nicer car! And, when I left school, I didn’t tell on him. And he was a real ass, and really had it coming, but for some reason, I left it alone. Now he’s on the County Administrators Board! Who knows how much he’s embezzling these days?

    Insomnia is a terrible affliction.

What is this recent nonsense from ebay and Royal Mail?

They now send me emails to tell me my expected parcel has been delivered. Well of course it effin' well has, I have the bleedin' thing sitting here, I don't need a effin' email to tell me!

My stuff doesn't get delivered directly to me so at least if I know it is arrived. Although I agree in practical terms it isn't much use.
