Yes, everyone I know, as I don't (or very rarely) us a mobile phone! I thought you knew me better than that, daftee?

Outside of this place, there are only TWO ways of contacting me: via email or landline phone. The only time I carry a mobile phone is when I'm out in the car, in case of emergencies, or should I need to contact Del - and it's only switched on when one or the other is applicable.

However, that's not the only reason for wanting to maintain a landline. More often than not I'm at home, so it makes sense to have a landline.

Plus, I'm rather particular about a high-strength signal usually being guaranteed whenever I'm speaking with someone a) so I can hear them clearly, and b) so there's much less likelihood of being cut off, due to a signal dropout, which along with the sound of tinny, robotic voices, is my bęte noire with the quality of reception often offered by today's 'mobile phones', and c) so if necessary I can chat much longer before the battery runs out, compared with most mobile phones, as when speaking with friends, and we get into a good discussion, I can be on the phone for hours!!

Furthermore, and importantly, it puts ME *in control* more, by always knowing that I have access to a reliable phoneline 24/7, which is 'hardwired' to a phone network and when not in use left permanently plugged into the mains.

Fortunately, we aren't contacted often by scammers and such like, as few people know our number, and we don't indulge in many of the mainstream consumerist activities others do, which often result in your personal details being exposed to third parties.

You need to ask his bird looks like she was in charge of it. I doubt Boris is bothered about what colour the wallpaper is.

This parental control thing is out of hand.

Why do I have to enter a PIN to watch an episode of 'Grand Designs'?

There's no sex (although the bird gets knocked up during the build surprisingly often, they don't actually show the conception). There's no violence and there's no bad language.

I understand that some people don't want their children seeing sex in case they grow up to be sex maniacs, and they don't want them seeing violence in case they grow up to be nutters. It's bollocks, but I understand it.

But who would you want to stop their children from illicitly watching 'Grand Designs'? People who are concerned that their children will become upper-middle class professionals with more money than they know what to do with?

    I'm just baffled.

Maybe the producers are worried that the kids will attempt to do some home improvements of their own, using dad's tools. Like little Simon and Sarah building her a new Wendy house. "Here, you hold the nail, I'll knock it in"

It's nothing new - remember the old "Batman cannot fly" message at the start of each show? Holy broken bones Batman!
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

To activate Virgin Media Parental Controls select 'ACTIVATE'
To deactivate Virgin Media Parental Controls select 'DEACTIVATE'

that is if its the childlock
