I'll be happy if people stop commencing conversation with "So" and in some cases, ending it with "innit"!
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Starting any sentence with "So" is, I think, just a passing (but annoying) affectation - it is a chance for the respondent to think about a reply. It replaces "Um" and "Well" in that respect.

"Innit" is just an inarticulate shortening of "isn't it", and to use it as a sentence terminator presumably means "isn't that right?", or "isn't that true?"; neither of which are necessary.

Spoken language evolves and changes all the time; sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. At the moment it is changing for the worse: by politicians, by journalists and those fond of neologisms ( such as "-gate" to denote an embarrassing situation - an American import). The 'street speak' of the younger generation is just one manifestation of language evolution.

One particular manifestation of this, which I find annoying is the 'upward inflection' - making every sentence sound like a question.

It's said in CSI quite a lot, but that started over 20 years ago.

    I don't mind it actually.
