Well it was the Vicar's garden party and his wife was well impressed. She dragged me behind the potting shed for a bit of 'hands on' investigation. She had rosy cheeks for the rest of the day!

Cheapest parcel tape! I'll bet most of us get through a fair bit of brown tape sending off packages of Hi-Fi.

After a bit of hunting around, I think I've tracked down the cheapest at Wilko (Wilkinsons). It's 75p a roll, unlike Tesco who charge £2, it's also cheaper than ebay. Home bargains are reasonable at £1 a roll, which includes a ball of string and luggage labels, not that I use those.

Yea, but there's parcel tape...and there's parcel tape.... that doesn't split off after you try to pull a length off and it leaves a jagged piece that you can't pick up and then when you do and you pull it. it does it again I think some are a lot thinner than others....Grrrrr

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Wilkinsons tend to sell decent stuff. I'm buying a few rolls today. That's why I was looking around at prices.
