    Default HECO Direkt EINKLANG

Pure Sound is pleased to announce the UK arrival of the HECO Direkt Einklang (One Way) a new design offering high sensitivity and excellent reproduction of tone & dynamics.

The Einklang joins the Direkt and Direkt Drei Klang (3 Way) to complete this range. They are available in Satin White or Black finishes.

In recalling a fondness for the easier sounding, generous qualities of the better loudspeakers of the 1950's and 60's, Heco have added a third, slightly smaller model to the Direkt range while retaining the format of a wide baffle, high efficiency loudspeaker. The development of this new 20 cm driver (and particularly the profile of its HF cone) has been made easier through the use of powerful modeling & simulation software allied to far more precise measurement systems (Klippel) than would ever have been available in the last century. The wide baffle with its radiused edges gives a lower baffle step frequency and fewer harmful diffraction effects. The presentation has an effortless, open quality unmatched by most modern, tall, & slim designs. The high sensitivity & benign load characteristics make the Direkt Einklang an obvious partner for lower powered, high quality amplifiers either using valves or transistor circuitry.

The styling is influenced by the racing cars & classic guitars of the 1950's & 60's yet retains a modern & contemporary feel.

Most of all and like its siblings, the obvious immediacy & presence of its sound means that the Direkt Einklang makes listening to music a great deal of fun!

    FEATURES

Single driver system with high sensitivity
Attractive, shallow profile cabinet with wide baffle & rounded edges
Substantially built enclosure with multiple bracing
Custom designed, cast alloy feet provide a stable base and optimal dispersion.

Efficient 20cm Full Range driver with Kraft paper diaphragm & integral, custom designed HF cone
Eq Network helps achieve even response throughout Midrange & HF
Linearised & constant impedance characteristic presents easy load for valve amplifiers
Twin down firing bass reflex ports with rounded ends for minimal turbulence and easier room placement.

    UK Retail Prices.

    Direkt Range

    Einklang £1849.95

Any specs on these Guy? And how different do they sound compared to the Direkt?

Heard these at Munich. Actually one of the highlights of the show, very musical indeed (though I came away thinking their name was 'Prototype', I guess in the same way that an ex-gf of mine once asked me the question why so many roads in Germany were called Einbahnstrasse ...).

The EQ idea is interesting for a single driver unit, whatever is done on there it works very well indeed.

At the price they are undoubtedly a bargain, indeed in sound per pound terms I would think very hard to beat in a new speaker.

    Apologies. Here are the specs.

With regard to the sound, the wide baffle & general design seems to give it the same easy presentation. I was apprehensive (given past experience with drivers using whizzer cones) but these sound very smooth so the profile (& perhaps the Eq network) are doing what they should. I like that Heco are looking at the designs of the 50's & 60's, particularly in the materials chosen, but they are applying some modern measurement & manufacturing tech rather than slavishly following approaches that may have had some evident flaws.

Heard them in a largish room and they did not in any way seem to lack bass, really unexpected for a single driver speaker. (having owned a few).

Ooh, I can't wait to hear these. Great size and nice look. Just one or two questions for Guy, if you don't mind. Pardon my ignorance, but is that 'full range driver' a dual concentric? It's a funny looking thing, so I'm not quite clear. And my other question; do you know where the port is tuned? And more generally, what sort of room size are these being used in? I ask because my room is a real pain, with modes around 39Hz and 46Hz that really mess things up with a lot of speakers.

As Tom said, these were demo'd at Munich, and were the only room I returned to three times. Very engaging, and doing nothing wrong that I could detect. Highly recommended!
