My favourite diver however is an old citizen promaster I’ve had for about twenty years, it’s special to me as it was a present from my partner who passed.

I’m lucky enough to have these as well

Very nice, those submariners are such a classic design. I noticed the Citizen's bezel was quite unmarked for quite an old watch, do you know what it's made from? Thinking of getting the Tudor black bay 58, but I think the bezel is made of Ali, and that puts me off, as ceramic is harder wearing, so more scratch resistant, as I'd actually like to wear a dive watch for sea swimming come summer.

Little big for me, I like the vintage sizing, 39mm or less, now looking at Squale. Seen this for £875 in a sale, the second for £1300.

Was gonna get a Tudor Black bay 58 but these have more of a vintage look to them, and I think are as accurate.

You won't go wrong with a Squale. Quality pieces. They used to make dive watch cases for other manufacturers, such is the quality of their work.

Yeh, I noticed they were better value than some of the other brands, well, the model I ended up getting seemed to be anyway, got a submariner copy, just shy of £500, as I was turned down for credit on a £3k Tudor, lol. I like the utilitarian look of the squales, won't be too upset if I scratch it while diving (sitting on a beach with a can of beer).
