A very good friend passed away last December and in his will he has left me a watch. It's a Tissot Seastar Navigator Chronograph from the late 1970's. It is in need of a service, it runs but stops after a while, hopefully just dried up oils and nothing broken. It's in very good condition, all original with the box, previous service history and the original sales receipt from when he bought it new from an official Tissot dealer. Hopefully I will get it collected from the solicitor who I ask to keep it safe as I can't get out to pick it up. When I have it I'll post some photos here. A very thoughtful gift from my old mate.

    Meanwhile...

My Parnis 'Top Gun's strap finally gave up,
didn't want it sitting unused so put it on a Breitling Navitimer strap.

Life in the old dog yet I think.

Nice one Ian, look forward to the photos.

Lorus today, this one has an older Seiko movement you can only wind with movement so it’ll probably stop soon…

    Well..
Most definitely Gaz. I have a favourite watchmaker who does amazing work, athough I'm based on the south coast I use a chap in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham, proper highly skilled expert and very fair prices. He's quoted me around £350 plus any parts that may be needed but that does include a new seconds hand as the current one has faded from bright orange to pale pink!!!. My brother put me on to him as he's been having his watches maintained there for thirty odd years and always gets great service.
I did try to learn watchmaking many years ago but my sausage fingers and bad temper tantrums when trying to find springs that have pinged off went against tackling anything worthwhile lol.
My friend also left me some other watches, a Swiss Emperor chrono and a couple of Citizen Eco Drives, all nice items.
