Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Well, late up today at 09:20 but had a few handfuls of Fruit and Fibre and coffee of course. Now it's 12:20 and I'm feeling a little rumbly sensation in the old tummy. More coffee I think as it kind of staves off hungry feelings.

The usual porridge made with milk, topped with chopped almonds and a sliced banana - and a glass of orange juice. Good for my heart and blood pressure.

Two slices of grilled bacon, two slices of fried black pudding and a fried egg. Washed down with a pint of breakfast tea.

No toast, I'm watching my weight.

Bowl of Fruit and Nut museli with extra raspberries and semi-skimmed milk. Two slices of toast with Marmite. Cup of Douwe Egberts instant coffee.

Just had Lidl no added sugar Swiss Muesli with some extra fruit, and a cuppa.

Made up for it yesterday, bacon, egg and tomatoes on toast, cuppa too.

My ideal brekkie is proper American waffles with butter and maple syrup. But you can't get that round here. Second choice is doughnuts. Must be ring, with the glaze.

Third alternative: Pint of milk, full fat of course, and a Mars bar. That's a good option if you need to get it down quick and under cover.
