I think Grant thought you were taking the piss about the Scots liking everything fried (Mars Bars, etc, hence pea fritters), which is a bit of a myth, as the English are just as bad!

I'm English and I've never seen anyone here eating fried chocolate of any type, and it is not a myth about fried mars bars ect. A grand Scottish dish I would love to try though is a 'stoner'.

I meant in terms of a love of fried food in general, which in my experience the English have as much as the Scots - indeed Brits overall in general. I was born in Scotland (Glasgow), but my parents and my whole culture is Italian, and we don't eat much fried food, cooked breakfasts, chips, pies, pastry (savoury or sweet), etc, like British folks do

And when I lived in Glasgow, for over 30 years, I never seen a deep-fried Mars bar in a chippy once! And, my parents were in the fish & chip shop business, for over 40 years, and didn't sell any either, so in that respect I know what I'm talking about

You might see the odd one, but it's certainly NOT a key staple of the average Scottish diet.

Anyway... Lunch earlier, some homemade chicken Schnitzel with dressed fresh salad-leaves and radishes. red onions, from our garden, with some green beans and tomatoes/ground black pepper, in a classic vinaigrette:







...washed down with a lovely chilled Cotes de Provence Rosé

Cheers, mate. With Del being half-German (the other half Welsh), she can do schnitzel pretty well. I think she made her first one when she was about 10, so plenty of practice!

They're inner chicken fillets wrapped in nice thick back bacon. Wine's just a bog standard quaffing Merlot. I've still got your list of recommendations but haven't been to Lidls or Aldis for some time, miss the shops. Will be venturing out tomorrow, to the post office in the first instance then I'll see how comfortable I am at being out & take it from there.

Good stuff, mate. Do you suffer from an underlying health condition, which would leave you vulnerable to the virus? If not, there's really nothing to worry about!

We've been out and about for weeks, doing shopping, sometimes twice a day, including collecting takeaways, without any issues. Just washing/sanitising our hands thoroughly before and after every trip, keeping a reasonable distance away from others, and being careful when we're out not to touch our faces, and without wearing masks.

Get out again mate into the world, and enjoy some freedom - it'll do your head the world of good, trust me!
