Hardly surprising, as don't really want to touch fresh food at the moment, I've been living largely on delivered frozen, dry or canned stuff for months. There's no way I'm going round shops. If others feel salad and the like are safe, let them eat it !

Fair enough mate, whatever works for you, works for you, and I respect that. However, sorry, but that would drive us demented!

Obviously it's not ideal, but it's hardly the end of the world.

Lol - it would be for us (not literally of course, but in terms of our enjoyment and quality of life), as we're major foodies, and so our meals are the highlights of our day, especially now with lockdown! You may have seen some evidence of that here

Fair enough it you see food simply as sustenance [just something to keep you alive], but that's fundamentally not us. It's an integral part of our lives.

As with other fresh food, one has no idea who's been around it and possibly handling it. Or whether they may be infected. It may be fine, but let others take that chance, I won't.

Ok, but the virus can only survive on any surface for a very limited period, so by the time you buy salad (or indeed anything else) from a supermarket, the virus (if it ever existed on the item in question in the first place) will be long gone, notwithstanding the fact that you would a) wash the salad yourself thoroughly before eating it, and b) also your hands.

As I said mate, I respect you doing what you feel you need to do to stay safe, but I'm surprised at how far you're taking it.

I'm extremely cautious. I even wear a 'hazmat' suit when having a bath!
