Shephard’s pie, homemade, and apple pie and cream to follow, also homemade, she spoils me, but I’m not telling her.

Is the Roys bag bag from Roys of Wroxham, in the Norfolk Broads? (The Worlds largest village store.) Got the kids shoes there for school when we were on holiday - Clarkes shoes, cheaper than even Clarkes. And superb service, so not complaining!

We had homemade lasagne tonight, but it wasn't very Italian - my wife's "Suffolk Lasagne" recipe! Forgot to take a picture again, but there is leftovers - I'm stuffed!

Also, don't be tempted NOT to use extra virgin olive oil and butter. Big part of the final taste.
I always cook in the oven for 10 minutes first using one of these with the pusher/lid on..

that way the center steams , then i pan fry in butter for a couple of minutes per side. This way you can have them as thick as you like and cooked to perfection.
Plus, those rings are great for rice dishes etc etc

    Cool Sunday Lunch, Chez-Marco...

Had my dad round today for lunch, so took some snaps of the scran. Not much time to do any 'fancy pics', but you'll get the idea! Started with kiln-smoked salmon, with Del's homemade tartare sauce and fresh rocket leaves, drizzled with homemade vinaigrette:

Followed by free-range chicken, sourced from a local farm shop, wrapped in pancetta and served with homemade gravy, creamed spinach, rosemary roast potatoes, Romanesco cauliflower sautéed in lemon and thyme, chick peas, and various other veg:

And lastly pud, which was Aldi's Hand-Finished Lemon and Mascarpone Cheesecake, served with vanilla ice-cream and strawberry fruit sauce:

...washed down with a bottle of Roussanne Domaine du Grand Selve, Pays D'Oc (white) for the fish [from Lidl], and a rather lovely Louis Jadot burgundy we brought back from France during the summer hols.

    All went down well!

    Marco.
