Roy try freekeh. I had some yesterday at Bill's (a chain).

This looks rubbish I think. It was outstanding.

The first time I have had freekeh. It wasn't the highlight but I spent 5 minutes with the waitress trying to find out what it was. It's an alternative to rice. And a very good one.

    Google/Wiki it for more.

I'll look it out Justin, thanks.

& that gammon looks delicious. Having been out for a largish lunch I thought I might make do with a sandwich tonight but your pic has made me hungry.

The local butcher has been selling huge ham hocks for £2.99. Sometimes roasted, sometimes boiled. It is outstanding value once you cut past the fat, of which there is usually loads. Even so, there's loads of meat in them too!

The hock you see was a boiled one. Very nice indeed.

Love boiled bacon, goes well with pease pudding.

Found freekeh on amazon, few varieties to, will give it a go.

That's where I looked but I reckon the local Waitrose might have some if I am lucky...

Those all look very nice, but FOUR chops Roy! You must have been a very hungry boy!

As it’s winter, I’m doing a Sunday roast as opposed to the normal BBQ...
