Are you familiar with Salice Salentino? It's a rather lovely super-smooth, very fruity, full-bodied red from the Puglia region o Italy, and one of my favs!

It made a lovely ‘gravy’. Soaked the leftover cold cuts in it and made a great baguette with tomato, grilled peppers and horseradish.

Ok, to put the starter into some context, if you check the gardening thread you'll see that I was over at my dad's place earlier and took some pics, one of which was of the courgette plants in his greenhouse:
So.... Spying some of the flowers on the courgette plants, Del decided to make a Tuscan classic, which is fried courgette flowers, stuffed with ricotta, parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil, served with a fresh tomato and basil sauce:
Followed by, as mentioned earlier, homemade steak pie with shortcrust pastry, assorted veg, hasselback potatoes and mash, with homemade gravy:
