I can't stand neat Scotch but I love Drambuie. But yeah adding sugar to home made beans is a must. And the Americans use Jack Daniels or Bourbon so I figured it'd work. It did.

As long as it's the cheap stuff you're adulterating, that's fine!

Looks rich and succulent, Roy, just like the ladies say about you!!

Today's lunch al fresco, as we're still enjoying the fine weather over the Easter holidays. First up, the booze... A nice chilled Côtes de Provence Rosé, with a classic Negroni cocktail I'd mixed first, which we enjoyed as an apéritif:

A starter of some Parma ham and fresh Galia melon with dressed salad leaves:

Followed by a selection of Chorizo sausages (sourced from our local Portuguese deli) and fresh Boerewors sausage, from the butcher, all cooked on the charcoal BBQ and served with a small home-made potato and spring onion salad, and bowl of dressed salad leaves, plus sliced red onion, green olives, feta cheese, green beans and fresh asparagus, with some hot sauces/mustard on the side:

Just in now, after relaxing outside in the nice weather with Del, enjoying our meal together, whilst chatting and listening to some cool tunes, streamed via Tidal, and controlled from my laptop, on the table outside (wi-fi in the garden works well)... All in all, a very enjoyable day!

That all looks very tasty, love chorizo. I might have had more carbs with it but then I'm 'piggling' (had 3 desserts at Butlins one evening because I couldn't decide which one to have so had them all - key lime pie, panna cotta then fresh fruit trifle.. )
