Risotto's the one, mate. Great umami flavours. It's also works well with chicken breast in a cream sauce. Although I thought you didn't like mushrooms?

depends on the mushroom and whats done with it etc.. these will add a bit of depth of flavour; the juice after rehydrating is the best stuff

No, not at all, the penne looked nice. What cheese did you put on top, though? Personally, I'd only ever use (freshy grated) Parmesan

Yeah, I know what you mean, From what you're saying, I think it's more the texture you don't like about mushrooms, largely influenced by how they're cooked, as opposed to the flavour. If you didn't like the flavour, you wouldn't like the juice, as it has a *very* intense taste of mushrooms!

Do you like risottos? As that's the ideal thing to put your dried mushrooms in. I've never seen you make one. I know you like rice, though.

Try this (nice with some peas in it, too): https://www.hwcmagazine.com/recipe/c...hroom-risotto/

not overly keen on wetness/stickiness of risotto, being savoury. not sure what i will use them for but wanted some in stock. decent dried ones you cant get in shops here.
Ive a decent stock of dried stuff now which helps me if i 'take a notion' and not wanting to mingle in shops with masses. probably add some to curries etc. way im feeling at moment i wont be doing much for a while food wise. got tinned soup so can use that til i feel better.
