That plate looks like it came from a French restaurant. How can an Italian man be happy with that little spoon full of cheesy potato's ?
That plate is lucky to be 250 calories. Ok, what did you do to upset Del?

Hahaha... No, she was in a jolly little mood, singling along to some Christmas songs in the kitchen, as she was cooking it all, whilst I made her a nice cocktail (Negroni). As I've just told Grant, I don't like having too much food on my plate at once. I prefer putting a manageable amount on, then getting more if I feel for it.

That way, you don't get too fat and it cuts down on wastage! But yes, thanks. She's a great cook (and I'm pretty much fluent in both French and Italian, verbally and written), so for a change thought I'd introduce the meal in French, as it would be described in a restaurant.

Del's been a busy wee girl today (made the Christmas cake and some mince pies before that), so she's flaked out now in front of the fire with the cats, snuggling her furry cat hot-water bottle, enjoying a glass of red.

Worth it?

Once in a blue moon. One more portion left, so not too bad.

This tasted pretty far off what I was expecting. I'd rate it 7 to maybe 8 out of 10 as a recipe.

So it's good+ I reckon to very good depending on mood.

Needless to say I added the red chilli.

Italian Pear Cake made with Mascarpone cheese. Surprisingly light and not too sweet. Actually a good breakfast option with coffee.
