Cheers... Del's 'speciality' is sauces. She's good at imbuing them with flavour. The sauce is very simple, and consists of fresh chicken stock, LOADS of freshly-squeezed lemon juice and grated lemon zest, capers, then finished with a good knob of butter, which just adds a little rich silkiness and smoothes out some of the acidity of the lemon juice - a Tuscan classic!

It's also nice substituting the lemon juice for dry Marsala wine, and adding some sliced champignons, for an alternative take on using chicken breast, or going the whole hog, topping it with fresh sage and Parma ham, and turning it into a classic Saltimbocca alla Romana

mmm, it was the gloss of the sauce that did it for me - I guess that is the large knob of butter.

    Herculean effort of gastric delight.

    Or total laziness...

Laughing cow, ketchup, hot sauce and nose dogs.

Meat sauce mainly (it’s what I usually have for lunch at work) but as Guy mentioned pizza topping, I’ll give that idea a bash and see how it turns out.

I bought 6 Cumberland at the same Waitrose visit from the deli counter. They are excellent

Those nose dogs are a cut above average, though.

Dr Hungry's three todger and mash. Charlie's organo carrots, and gravy infused with Italian deli sausage plus spring onion and balsamic.

The gravy could have been better using a stock cube but I was just a bit idiotic and used Bisto gravy granules.

    Fool.

I am still wondering what I should have done with that Italian sausage that could have made better use of it in that dish.

To be fair, though, if I got that in a pub I'd be all smiles
