If it was banned, I would applaud and support the decision wholeheartedly.

Until then, I’m afraid I always have it if it’s on the menu as I absolutely adore it.

Fair enough, but for me whether it was banned or not is immaterial, nor how tasty it is. The process of creating it is pure animal cruelty, which I simply won't entertain.

It was bought for me, so there was not much I could do. But I did say that in future, liver paté would be preferred.

Today's lunch:

To start, hot-smoked salmon with sweet chilli, on a bed of del's homenade salad, consisting of mini-Gem lettuce, sliced radishes, cucumber, white cabbage, red onions and peppers, lightly pickled with salt, sugar, red-wine vinegar and a touch of chilli flakes, then coated and tossed together with light-soy sauce and sesame oil, and finished off with sprinkled fresh coriander and red chilli...





Main course was double-Welsh lamb cutlets marinated in fresh ground black pepper, rosemary, garlic and olive oil, cooked in the oven until crispy on the outside, but still succulent inside, served in its own roasting juices with a dollop of homemade mint sauce, and various fresh veg, including homemade broccoli and cauliflower Mornay, and mini Hasselback potatoes:

The only thing that was missing was a nice bottle of red! Still off it for Lent. Three weeks to go and counting....

The starter was very light and tasty, and not too filling. We always have a nice lunch on a Sunday, so usually two courses, sometimes three. Then nothing for tea, apart from perhaps some fresh fruit.
