    Managed to break a toe (i think) in the process, but hey it's only pain.
    I'll get rid of that with booze.

    Nothing to beat wood burners (or a an open fire) for hottest, but with most natural heat

    Can't 'do' gas or electric heaters, as I find the heat very artificial and which dries the air. Same goes for central heating, which we also have, but only use very occasionally.

    My only query is if the wood will be seasoned enough for this winter? I plan ahead by at least two years so that the oak I burn has dried out a fair bit.
