Just done my weekly ten minutes hoeing the flower beds. Keeps all the weeds down.

    Peppers and chilies doing well.
Made the mistake of biting into one of the chilies last night, and had to have 6 pints of ale before the burning went away.
Well, that was my excuse anyway
God knows what i'm going to do with them all?

Well it's taken a couple of days, but I've now treated all the outside wooden fences and shed and garage doors to protect them through the winter. I do this every couple of years.

Freeze 'em whole. I've still got a big bag of Orange Habanjero's from 2 years ago that I'm slowly working my way through.

Been busy stripping and repainting the porch and front door, and am fairly pleased with the results:

Bit of a dismal day, weather-wise. Would've looked nicer in yesterday's glorious sunshine!

Lol - it's fairly 'bailiff proof'

Seriously though, the door is 3-inch thick solid oak. with massive cast-iron bolt-locks, fitted when the house was built in 1887 (and dead bolts top and bottom), plus an ERA 'Invincible' door lock, which we fitted ourselves: https://www.erahomesecurity.com/mech...door-cylinder/

I honestly think one of those 'battering rams' that the Police use would just bounce off of it!!

    Marco.
