My favourite plant so far this year in my garden is this Verve clematis at various stages of opening..

One thing the lockdown has been good for is the time to watch the garden blossom and thrive.
That said, i’m back to work in a few weeks and i can’t wait for it.

I would, but it is right up against neighbours fence panels

By the way, in case it makes a difference, it is a Holly (about 18" diameter) with very thick root system (I have dug around it for about half of the circumference and it is a tough old bugger, I think trying to lift it would result in damage to my neighbours patio area on the other side of the fence).

Please don't use poisons. You will contaminate the soil for years to come.

Sawn down to ground level and I intend to cut off any new shoots which appear - let nature take its course with rotting the stump (who knows, it may encourage some beetles).

I had the same problem several times over and dug around the stump, then chainsawed down and got off as much as i could, then filled the hole back in.
No light, no growth. It worked perfectly.
