‘American’ Pale ales, absolutely they should be ice cold. An old school East India Pale Ale, much darker In colour, would be served cool, or even room temperature.

If it has a straw or golden colour, then ice cold. Darker ales can be pushed warmer.

As for rolling the bottle, yes it distributes the sediment and adds more flavour. However, don’t try this with a more carbonated ale! Coopers is not that fizzy.

I bought this for my daughter's boyfriend at Christmas and I just tried it. With apologies to Scottish members it is rather good!

+1. We put our beer glasses in the freezer, and use these for pilseners, wheats and pale ales. Nothing better on a hot summer day than to pour a cold one into a frozen glass

That looks interesting to a Southern Cotswolds "lad" like myself.

A mainly digital setup with a musical amplifier and endearing 1970's speakers. A CD player that hardly ever gets used and a turntable that is good enough to remind my how enjoyable my old vinyl is. Some cables and things.

Not tried that, Tony. It's an unusual combination of flavours, though. So what's in it exactly?

    Excellent - one approves!

Be interested to know your recipe as mine looks completely different to that.

    Using Difford's Guide recipe:-

1 ½ shot Vodka, 1 1/12 shot Espresso, ½ shot Kahlua, ¼ shot Sugar syrup - shaken with ice then strained.

*PS - second ones were better as I never shook the first ones up enough.
