Sunday reading! Picked up in a second-hand bookshop by my other half for princely sum of £1:49.

It’s actually really good reading and is doing a good job on the education front for a noob like me.

Had a few nice pints of Titanic Iceberg and Plum Porter over the weekend; very nice beers indeed

Always been a huge fan of the plum porter; it's the right time of year for it too

    Thumbs up Wines for Christmas!

We've been using Virgin Wines recently for some of our wine purchases, as the quality is excellent (selections are solely from selected small producers), and for the quality on offer, prices are competitive. So I've just ordered the following mixed case of reds and whites, which along with the stock of wines we currently have (around 95 bottles), should keep us going over the festive period!

    2) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...x-du-Languedoc

    3) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...s-dEstezargues

    4) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...illaume-Gonnet

    5) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...rnet-Sauvignon

    6) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...ition-Pinotage

    7) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...ction-Cinsault

    8) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...serve-Carignan

    9) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...La-Fama-Malbec

    10) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...llon-Sauvignon

    11) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...auvignon-Blanc

    12) https://www.virginwines.co.uk/wine/Z...auvignon-Blanc

And they chucked in a free bottle of this:

I'll be reviewing each wine, with an appropriate food accompaniment, in due course. I'd highly recommend Virgin Wines for both the quality of their products and superb (very friendly and efficient) service!

Sound good, Marco, but have you tried the new Tempranillo from Lidl? I reckon it could be just your thing - see here:

Heh-heh... Yeah, I saw it the other day when I was in. I'm on 25% commission, for every bottle sold, don't you know?

In all seriousness though, some of those wines will be rather good!

I don’t doubt it - some of their wines are superb. In particular they do a delicious Carmenere which is a ‘must buy’ whenever they have any in stock.
