Had this with an excellent Thai takeaway on Saturday. Was a superb match. Always pleasing how food and drink cultures so widely geographically separated can compliment each other so well.

I'm impressed, Tony - that's a lovely wine! Where did you buy it and how much did it cost? Just curious

Not surprised it went well with the Thai food. Next time though, try it with some sole meunière!

More seriously, and just as a little tip, if you're going to have white wine with the likes of Thai or Indian food/curries, try a good Gewurztraminer, particularly Alsatian varieties. Have a read here: https://www.decanter.com/wine-review...r-like-300561/

And it'll probably be cheaper than the Meursault

Cost me nothing but enjoyment Marco, was brought round by an old friend from a previous job. He certainly knows his beans and brought this especially.

With you on the Alsatian wines, back in the past they were a big favourite. I’m not so particular these days but love it when the magic happens.

Just a heads up, guys, for anyone who enjoys a nice glass of fizz, but doesn't want to pay champagne prices, and fancies a change from Prosecco, Aldi have this currently on sale for a bargain £7.99

Cremant du Jura.... More info here: https://www.aldi.co.uk/exquisite-cre...04711000727200

Trust me, it is *superb*, and in many ways as good as some non-vintage champagne, at a mere fraction of the price. Read the reviews!

100 yrs ago today prohibition started in the USA.. Dark days indeed except for the criminals who made a fortune.... Thankfully we never went there, but it does make you wonder why some drugs whose use is often no more harmful, and sometimes less than alcohol is prohibited, allowing gangsters to run billion £ empires.
ps I have never taken drugs.... but I do think if they were licenced similarly to alcohol than much of societies ailments could have been avoided..

anyway, just thought i'd mention the day

The 2015 is about £40 a bottle, the 2016 about £50 and the 2017 vintage is about £75 a bottle.
