I had the Laphroaig 10 tonight, smoked ham, sea water and iodine, smells and tastes like Smokey hospital bandages.
It is odd that I liked it, not something I would drink regularly but it was a good experience.
I am going to save this bottle to have fun with people, pour a nice fruity scotch for 3 or 4 guests and give one the Mermaids bath water and not tell anyone then ask them what they are tasting and see the reactions from the Lapfroaig 10 guy.
I have heard it described as mermaids bathwater but in my opinion only if she is covered in iodine soaked bandages , smoking a cigar and using a Ham for a loofah!
I have had 2 taco's chips and salsa and still all I taste is the L10 an hour later.

Would you get the Glenfarclas 105 or the Aberlour Abundah? if you had to choose one?
Both are CS and both are sherry cask.

The Aberlour is probably a bit overly priced but no doubt its the more sherried, and usually stronger(it varies depending on batch. Stronger is maybe younger?)
For money the 105 is very good value. It's a good question
Maybe 2 Glen's to every Aber.

Yes I used to drink Laphroaig. Its not as good as it used to be imo, although it's maybe me. It's better with ice. The smoke sticks in the back of nose and palate.

Lol.. Monty P.. Class in the day and much of it still very funny and apt.

Back onto the Dalmore 15. This is close to empty although not quite there yet.
It's very nice and has improved as the bottle has emptied. Matured in 3 types of sherry casks, matusalem, apostles and amoroso... Gives it a unique flavour. Sometimes you have to reavalue your original feeling on a drink.
    A nice hue too

So many people say you really get a lot from the Dalmore 12, the cigar bottle is rubbish , the 15 has to be good if the 12 is .The King Alex III is said to hold some very carefully matured and finnished whiskeys but has a huge price for a nonage statement bottle. The tasting notes alone make me want a bottle. It is just a little to pricey for me right now. And sorry Richard Paterson but I would not be throwing any on the floor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ3J_7_bEek

Yeah it varies here the king price. I read the 15 was the sweet spot it cash to bang, so I got a bottle. Think 15 is about £65 a bottle. It isn't silly dear but you can get a litre of glenfarclas 18 for that at moment. Still it's a nice drop.
One of the members here has some king, he had a number of their bottles.

Tesco here are doing glenfiddich 15 at £40 here. That's a great buy and a nice drop.
