It's not overly unusual with young whisky. I'd estimate it to be 5 or 6. A bit of air, a splash of O2 and its rather good.

A 5 or 6 is maybe a bit harsh, decent whisky for the price, needs a splash of water and of course not like most of the peaty malts from Islay. A good bargain buy just now is Auchendoshan at £20 in Tesco, a decent everyday malt.

Ah I see... No worries, and yes I agree about a splash of water, as I've just tried it that way and it was rather nice! I usually put a 'teardrop' of water in all whisky, as I find it opens up and smooths out the flavours, but with the Bunnahabhain a touch more than that is better!
