I quite like the Dalmore Port Wood

Which is what led me to buy the King Alexander.

I have just been given this, as a "thank you" from one of the neighbours for helping him sort out the fallen trees in his garden after the storm we had a few weeks ago....

I hope it is good, as I think I already have one...

A question - if I have a cork that looks like it is drying out, what is the best thing to replace it with?
    Preferably something available on-line....

I was thinking a tapered cork, as some of the bottles I have are of different size necks.

Fettercairn is a decent distillery. I still have some fasque which is great. Think the 12 will be similar if not the same. Fasque was a bit darker

If Cork is still solid then tip it upside down a few times and it should soften again. You should do this with all whisky as a matter of course to keep cork moist. Maybe every 3 months or so is a good gauge

You got us all beat by a thousand bottles Grant.
The Lustau is a 10 year aged with one additional year in a sherry cask yet some how when compaired to the 12 or 15 seems much younger, the legs and the back of the pallet compares to a 4 to 6 year Bourbon. tried to take a nice picture of tonights whisky but I don't have your skills with a phone camera.
Not that I'm complaining,I still enjoy it , Im just glad my first Redbreast was 12 year CS. As that was a very nice way to appreciate the true flavor profile and quality of the brand.
The 15 is still my favorite.

Looks great. Love the clam. Yes lustau feels younger than 11 but it might be that they might have used European oaked sherry cask for last year and it might have been a bit strident. ie, a first fill

The shell lamp came from Maui where my parents lived for 3 years.
one of a kind if memory serves correct , there was an story in the newspaper of my Mom buying it .
She liked to buy local art. My sister got 2 paintings I got the lamp.
Somehow Grant you got light and color back into my photo.
