Yeah, I only enjoy soft drinks occasionally, but when I do, I like a nice one! In that respect, my usual 'weapon of choice' is San Pellegrino, particularly their 'Aranciata Rossa' [blood orange] drink.which is superb, but this Maine stuff has that authentic 'vintage taste' (as I said very like Alpine) - really lovely

Back in the day, I used to carry in WOODEN crates of those [and every other kind of pop you could think of] every morning from the store, topping up the shelves of 'ginger' in my old man's chippy! You used to get money back on empties, which was great for topping up your pocket money!
Or what about Red Cola? Almost as Scottish as Buckfast!

Everything in moderation, Robin, is my motto. So if I have a sugary soft drink, then it's ONE and not another for a week or so. I like to treat myself and not abuse things. Same applies to sweets, crisps and ice-cream, which I also enjoy in MODERATION, including alcohol!

I believe "everything in moderation", but that includes moderation itself.
Anyway regarding soft drinks, I still enjoy a glass of Robertsons 'Orange Barley Water', made with cold water and with three ice cubes.
Have lately been drinking Fever-Tree 'Premium Indian Tonic Water, which is very good - will have to do a side by side comparison with Schweppes.
