I did that when I stopped.. Erdinger was the best and it was available in Tesco. But I havent even had any alc free for well over a year(or it seems that long)

I read an interesting article the other day showing that ex drinkers still get an endorphin hit when drinking alcohol-free beer, due to association. I certainly feel it.

Yup, sure its well possible.. I remember many years ago thinking i must be pissed as Id drunk a case of it in a pub in Liverpool(as I was Driving) I wasnt of course but I kinda felt it

Picked up the usual bottles for this t8me of year today, Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry and a nice bottle of Drambuie (just for me as the missus doesn’t like whisky)

Got a nice 2/3 bottle sherry meant to be arriving next week I think now. Stock issues I think

I’ve a few really nice fino sherries in the garage fridge, missus doesn’t like then, too dry/oaky etc... I think they’re lovely, but in small doses really.

I’ll,be shopping for port next. I’ve a voucher for D Byrne’s in Clitheroe (a very old wine shop FYI) so will be heading that way to spend a few £hundred on wine and port in the next few days, get my usual Christmas box of reds etc. Only a few whites though as we don’t drink a lot of the stuff.

Will be getting a few English sparklings though, much preferred to champers in all honesty

Champagne is overrated in my opinion. I would much rather have an Italian sparkling wine, or a Blanquette de Limoux (who argue this was the original French sparkling wine).

I completely agree, *unless* you're spending around £100 a bottle on the good vintage stuff. Perrier-Jouët La Belle Epoque, especially the pink version, is our favourite. Or for something a little more affordable, Pol Roger Reserve: https://www.waitrosecellar.com/fine-...rut-reserve-nv Both are great of examples of 'proper Champagne', worth the money.

We tasted their pink sparking, and it was superb, and for £18 a bottle, bonkers good value! They're still working on their website, but email them or give them a call, and they'll ship out what you want. Honestly, Dan, it's top-notch!
