Well I wouldn't be likely to post here. I don't drink shorts (or wear 'em), I don't like wine and I regard real ale as fit only for washing out paint brushes. Sticking to lager thanks.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”
“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Nope - just had a slug or two of the Auchentoshan that was on offer in Tesco. http://theartofsound.net/forum/showt...Saturday+night (post 1843)
Cut back on the wine drinking, but when I get around to it I post the 'slurps' we've enjoyed over the last few months.
(It's too cold for lager now - it's a summer drink.)

You've been rather remiss, old chap, as you used to regularly post pics of what wine you've been drinking...
I drink various types of imported lager all year round, and real ale only on draught (preferably in a nice country pub, in one of those pint pots with a handle, or a tankard), as for me the bottled stuff is shit in comparison!
I also rather like Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer
Marco.

Went to this brewery on a 10 day beer tour of Bruges and Brussels and surrounding bits. That was 25 years ago.
Of all the beers, this was for me the best by a margin. I've just ordered 20 bottles of it.
It has a problem, though. 330ml bottles and 9% but you cannot taste it is strong. I actually think it is stronger than 9% in practise. 3 bottles and you are pretty pissed but at the same time amazed at how good it tastes. If you do 4...
It is stunning at the right temperature.
Watch it f^&* this guy up... when you try it, by the end of the third bottle you will be staggered. He's just had a few sips, LOL.
He's overplaying the sourness aspect IMHO but it is there, no question, but then there's so much more Complex tasting in extremis. I have exhausted the Beers Of Europe stock pretty much with the single 20 bottle order. It is hard to get here. It is a small brewery, acres of copper everywhere. Amazing to see.

This Broglia Gavi from Waitrose is an absolute steal reduced from 14.99 to 9.99
I have been disappointed by the quality of special offer wines from Waitrose in the past but I'm so pleased I took a punt on this -
beautifully ripe summer peaches and zesty lemon, it didn't take long to see this one off ...

Just a heads up, Asda have an offer on some wines at the moment, 6 bottles for £24, worth a look
