Red wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon area of France are usually rather interesting, as the grape varieties indigenous to that region (coupled with the heat in southern France) combine to add different flavour characteristics from the norm.
More folk should experiment with French regional wines, rather than simply going for the 'usual suspects', as the rewards can be significant and the value for money excellent! Enjoy, mon ami
