Why don't we re-title the thread: "Wine, Whisky and Real Ale Recommendations"? (With the tacit assumption that " whisky" also includes "whiskey").

I think only Admin can do this - so Marco what are your thoughts?

Anyway, regarding whisk(e)y, my favourite tipples are:

    Auchentoshan
    Highland Park
Glenfiddich (12 yr old) and Glenlivet
    Lagavulin

    and my favourite

    Laphroaigh.

I've renamed a thread before(my gallery one).... This Weller is really nice; I'd forgotten how nice as I have had that bottle lying in reserve for some years now, from a time when I was more affluent

I think we ought to get Marco's approval before anything is changed - he started the thread.

most definitely......it was just a thought as whisky, like wine is so varied and a bit of a minefield to the uninitiated.

Ah, Eagle rare 10...great choice Dave, and was one of my favs for a long time. They kinda changed it a bit plus upped the price and I stopped buying it but it was, and may well still be a stunning drop.

Yeah, it could work. Lots of different drinks around nowadays anyways. I am not up on most of them as I usually just stick to nice whisky and Bourbon etc. Love wine too but don't dabble much these days although still have a few bottles stashed away
