I wanted to put something in my 2 liter cask to keep it from drying out so I added 1.75 liter bottle of JB and gave it a taste.
Peat & piss, No self respecting Scotsman would drink this, it has to be export only.
This is to Scotch what Thunderbird is to wine. I'll leave it in the barrel permanently.
Ah yes, JB, was blended for the US Market for mixing. It's not great on own but nice in some ginger ale and ice.

Also decided to open this from the newly opened Wolfburn distillery.. Langskip at 58% is potent, and young.
Lots of light fruit and ginger on nose. Nuts, more nuts and fruit. Then spices.. Pepper and ginger again. Something else too but can't place it.
A teaspoon of water is a big plus. Smoother again, and spices under control. More nuts, almonds I think.

Damn good this for a very young lassie.
Can't wait for this distillery to get some older stock.
Fabulous stuff for age.. 5 star considering

A long finish with this.. This I think would go down a storm in usa.

two teaspoons and the fire returns but it opens up even more.. heavier fruits... more oak spice.. really is stunning for a very young whisky, age i dont know but cant be old..great wood.

    yup very impressive.. having another

It was $120.00 here and that is very reasonable for it's age and quality.
I plan to stash one away for when Conner graduates collage as a gift. By then it may be unobtainable here.
It was to long ago I had McClellan 21 but I don't remember it being this good to be honest. I remember it being darker in flavor more leathery.
92 was awhile back, but I do love this GF 21. Both light fruits and darker fruits like mango and papaya the 21 is just an assortment and it stays in your mouth for a good long time.
I used a straw to put 3 to 4 drops of water in a generous pour and it got even better,I let it sit in the Tuath glass for 25 min. before tasting.
The finish was like Indian Mango and chocolate, This and the Redbreast 15 are my favorites to date,

you'd like both im sure... wolfburn dont have a huge amount of spirit at moment so it mostly for jhome market, but i think if the trump penalty to scotch is lifted it might become available in a year or two.
scotch here is having a bit of a renaisance i think, with many new distilleries producing exciting stuff.. think on small scale, some/masny newish american distilleries are too.. the old "pushing the envelope" god i wish i hadnt typed that

Its £46 here... a bit of smoke in that one if you like it.
the langskip is nearly 70£ here, which is a lot for a young un.. in usa it would be 120 dollars which is probably why its not sold there

I was wrong to assume Wolfburn was not imported here, but looks very limited . I edited my post after finding it.
I really eye the shelves in the scotch section over and over reading bottles ,trying to educate my self.
I feel the GF21 to be the best integration of a Sherry cask into a scotch I have ever had. It never dominates at any point in the from my lips through the long finish.
It really takes you on a flavor ride.

It is here but not in my neighborhood.
