    2018 Château Dasvin-Bel-Air, Haut Médoc

"Dating back to the early 19th Century, Château Dasvin-Bel-Air is located near the village of Margaux, in the heart of the Médoc. This wine displays delicious blackcurrent fruit, is medium bodied, with a silky lush finish. Although can be drunk now (2018), the wine will continue to improve for 2 to 3 years."

    14.5% ABV, £14.25 a bottle

A bit of an oenophile delight for me:

    Château Peyrat-Fourthon, Haut-Médoc 2009

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot.

Enjoyed this wine whilst celebrating my birthday at Maxim's restaurant in Paris.

"Intense garnet in colour. Expressive nose of ripe black currant, black pepper, cloves, wet earth, hint of leather. Oxygenation brings noticeably more aromas. Tannins are firm and give structure as they develop. Generous body helps to bring balance to the powerful tannins. There is a lingering bitterness that is drying in final palate. Finishing of about 8 sec. This is a fleshy wine that needs to go with a hearty dish with some sweetness."

    13.5% ABV, about £24 a bottle

This was an absolutely stunning Barolo I enjoyed with some friends last night. Probably in the top 5 wines I have ever drunk.

Your nose is much better than mine, I rely on my taste buds, are apart from peat and smoke which are easy pick outs.

Forgot to mention picked up Craigellachie 13 at the airport
