Here's a treat, Hawker Sea Fury doing the business. Possibly the greatest pre-jet fighter. That engine sounds incredible, some real power and speed. Magnificent!

I'm building a Lancaster at the moment. It was given to me as a Christmas Present a couple of years ago and has been sitting in my study lurking in a suspicious manner. And as my wife has been on at me to tidy the study, I thought I should build it, then I can chuck it out (I may be weird, but as a lad I loved building models, but once built I lost interest - seems some things don't change). Any way building it while listening to some albums is a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Big old beast from the Korea War era. Douglas Skyraider, very nice! Not seen at airshows very often.

Go to Old Warden and stand behind any old planes with rotary engines, bath in the noise and castor oil.

    Oh and wear old clothes.....

A few years ago ,I went to Fairford with a mate who volunteered at Classic Flight ,Baginton , Coventry.
We flew from there to Fairford and back to Coventry later in the day.
One of the passengers in the Dakota , was sitting behind us and alongside the wing , and he asked my mate why all the black oil was streaming along the top of the wing surface?

Mate told him not to worry unless it caught fire He looked frightened to death poor lad !!!

We got the F35, it would have been nice if they'd chosen the F22 instead.
